Freesound is a collaborative database of Creative Commons Licensed sounds where you can browse thousands of sounds from a multitude of categories. Always something interesting to find, download and share.
If you are a producer of sounds and samples you’re also welcome to upload new, free, sounds to freesound.org. Help enhancing the awesome audio database and in the same time spread your music.
Freesound was started in 2005 in the Music Technology Group of Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona, Spain. Currently it is being maintained and developed by the Freesound team, which is basically composed by current and former researchers and students of the research group. The project is entirely voluntary and supported by donations and T-shirt sales.
